It is 2020, a new year and a new decade. I don’t know about you, but something about that energy has me in planning mode. I am not talking about those plans that you create and then they get put aside because you are too busy or more pressing things come up.
I AM TALKING ABOUT SETTING GOALS AND FOLLOWING THROUGH.
My goal in sharing this series with you is to develop tock solid unbreakable plans to weather any storm that comes your way.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO DEFINE YOUR GOALS?
YOU CANNOT ACHIEVE WHAT YOU CANNOT DEFINE.
If they are not clearly defined, you will never know that you succeeded in accomplishing what you set out to do.
One of the things that I like to do is define a measurable goal by using S.M.A.R.T goals. By defining your goals in this matter it makes them clear and attainable.
(Don’t worry if you never heard of it, I am about to explain it.)
- Specific (simple, sensible, significant).
- Measurable (meaningful, motivating).
- Achievable (agreed, attainable).
- Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based).
- Time bound (time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive).
Here is an example:
Not a S.M.A.R.T goal: I would like to grow my coaching business
S.M.A.R.T goal: I would like to grow my coaching business by seeing 15 more coaching clients per month by increasing my video outreach, developing workshops in my community, and collaborating with similar businesses on or before June of 2020
Now it is your turn.
Take a current goal – and turn it into a S.M.A.R.T goal.
If you need help developing your goals and achieving them, the door is always open to reach out and see if some support could help you slay your goals in 2020.
